The title of this episode is Called
To Who Before Do. In the last episode,

0:00:37.980,0:00:42.060
we talked about the concept of
Future You. In this episode,

0:00:42.060,0:00:46.440
we focused on the idea that as followers
of Jesus, we are called to more.

0:00:46.440,0:00:50.760
Not necessarily more money, a bigger
house, vacations, or followers,

0:00:50.760,0:00:56.280
but fulfilling who God created us
to be. There’s nothing wrong with

0:00:56.280,0:01:01.200
those things but they are not the
type of more God calls us toward.

0:01:01.200,0:01:05.520
When God calls us he calls us to who before do.

0:01:05.520,0:01:10.740
So in this section, Craig Groeschel
outlines two types of more.

0:01:10.740,0:01:19.080
The first type is based on sin. we want more
money a bigger house cars clothes vacations

0:01:19.080,0:01:26.160
friends and followers. It is never enough. No
matter how much we have we always want more.

0:01:26.160,0:01:31.440
The second type that he outlines
is a Godly type of more. So this

0:01:31.440,0:01:34.020
is fulfilling who God created us to be.

0:01:34.020,0:01:39.540
Start With Who. When most Believers
think of calling they tend to think

0:01:39.540,0:01:43.800
about what they’re going to do before they
think about who they’re going to become.

0:01:43.800,0:01:49.260
Some examples of do.
Overseas or inner-city missions

0:01:49.260,0:01:52.920
Maybe starting a Ministry
Starting a non-profit.

0:01:54.180,0:02:01.620
These might eventually come but only after
discovering who God is calling you to be.

0:02:01.620,0:02:05.100
Here are a few quotes from
Craig Groeschel. He says,

0:02:05.100,0:02:10.680
“Your calling is more about who you’re
becoming than what you are doing.”

0:02:10.680,0:02:14.760
“Understanding our who illuminates our do.”

0:02:14.760,0:02:21.360
“Another way to say this is you are called first
to salvation then to sanctification then to

0:02:21.360,0:02:29.640
serving. Sanctification and serving will then run
parallel until Heaven. The two work hand in hand.”

0:02:29.640,0:02:37.620
Let’s think about the two who’s of Jesus and
you and how they give significance to your do.

0:02:37.620,0:02:38.820
Two Who’s

0:02:38.820,0:02:44.820

    1. First is Jesus we are called to be like
Jesus. Whatever you do, do it for Jesus.

0:02:44.820,0:02:49.860

    1. The second is you. The
person God made you to be.

0:02:49.860,0:02:54.600
A quote from Craig Groeschel says,
“If your due is about who God wants

0:02:54.600,0:02:59.460
you to become and who you want to
become, then your do is not small.”

0:02:59.460,0:03:06.660
Now we have an exercise for this section,
and it lists out different topics. So

0:03:06.660,0:03:10.320
the first one is salvation, and it
says if you are a follower of Jesus,

0:03:10.320,0:03:15.180
briefly write out your testimony
how you came to Salvation in Christ

0:03:16.260,0:03:22.200
The second one is sanctification. List the
most significant changes Christ has made in

0:03:22.200,0:03:29.220
your life since salvation. The third one is
serving what is your do your calling to serve

0:03:29.220,0:03:32.640
is there a service that you sense God has called

0:03:32.640,0:03:37.920
you to do but the opportunity has not
come yet and it asks you to explain.

0:03:37.920,0:03:41.700
That’s all for this episode. Thank you
for watching. If you like the video,

Called To Who Before Do

Called to More

This past week focused on the idea that as followers of Jesus, we are called to more. Not necessarily more money, a bigger house, vacations, or followers, but fulfilling who God created us to be. There is nothing wrong with those things, but they are not the type of more God calls us toward. When God calls us, he calls us to who before do.

Two Types of More

    1. Based on Sin
We want more money, a bigger house, cars, clothes, vacations, friends, and followers. It is never enough. No matter how much we have, we always want more.

    1. A Godly Type of More
Fulfilling who God created us to be.
      Start With Who
When most believers think of calling, they tend to think about do before they think about who.

Called To Who Before Do

Do Examples :
• Overseas or inner-city missions
• Start a ministry
• Start a non-profit

These might eventually come, but only after discovering who God is calling you to be.

“Your calling is more about who you are becoming than what you are doing.”

“Understanding our who illuminates our do.”

“Another way to say this is you are called first to salvation, then to sanctification, then to serving. Sanctification and serving will then run parallel until heaven. The two work hand in hand.”

“Let’s think about the two whos of Jesus and you and how they give significance to your dos.”

Two Whos

    1. Jesus – We are called to be like Jesus. Whatever you do, do it for Jesus.

    1. You – The person God made you to be.

“If your do is about who God wants you to become and who you want to become, then your do is not small.”

Exercise

SALVATION
If you are a follower of Jesus, briefly write out your testimony-how you came to salvation in Christ.

SANCTIFICATION
List the most significant changes Christ has made in your life since salvation.

SERVING
What is your do – your calling to serve?

Is there a service that you sense God has called you to do, but the opportunity has not come about yet? Explain.

Principle

If your do is about who God wants you to become, about who you want to become, then your do is not small.

Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.
-Luke 9:48 NLT
